Do you only shoot outdoors? Can you come to my home?

If you have a bright home with lots of natural light,  a big, manicured yard, acreage, or other visually appealing surroundings your home may be the perfect setting depending on what types of images you'd like. I do primarily shoot outdoors; my specialty is capturing not only your dog, but the gorgeous backdrops available to us here in the Bay Area.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Photo sessions may be rescheduled due to rain, high winds, heat, or any weather where it would be dangerous to shoot, cause the dog discomfort or be miserable for the humans.

Does my dog need to be well-trained? My dog can't go off leash, is that a problem?

No way! Most dogs I photograph are not highly trained, they are well loved family pets, not obedience stars! I'll collect detailed information from you about your pet prior to the shoot to ensure he/she will be able to be managed safely during a session. I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve to help us get some great shots, and leashes can be digitally removed in post processing.

How old does my puppy need to be?

There is no minimum age requirement, in fact, I encourage puppy sessions as they grow so quickly and documenting puppyhood is so important. Plus I love me some puppy breath! Some locations may not be suitable for the little guys (their immune systems aren't as strong) so we'll discuss what works best for your new pupper.

Can you take pictures of me with my pet?

I love capturing the bond you have with your pet, so yes please! Get on in there! If you're after a family portrait where the main session focus is on the family, you will be better served by a family session photographer; I'm all about the puppies. If you'd prefer to remain behind the scenes, that's okay too.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yep! Your session fee is paid at the time of booking to reserve your appointment. You'll purchase prints & products during your session reveal a few weeks later, so bring your plastic, cash or checkbook.

How far in advance do I need to book my session?

I limit commissioned sessions to just a few per month so I can offer a personalized experience with a quick turnaround time. I rarely will have immediate availability, and recommend setting up a session at least 2-3 weeks in advance.  Keep in mind that it will take 2-3 weeks allow for editing after the session before your reveal and ordering appointment. Products can take several weeks to customize, order & be delivered, so if you are working on a timeline for product delivery, book right this instant!

My dog was diagnosed with a terminal illness and/or has major health issues and doesn't have much time left. Can you fit us in last minute?

I will bend over backwards to get you booked so you have portraits of your baby to treasure forever and ever.
